Medical Assistance in Dying Legislation

The Trudeau government has accepted a court ruling that Canadians should not have to be near death to qualify for medical assistance to end their lives but it is now considering whether other hurdles should be imposed to guard against abuse. The public are invited to offer feedback until January 27 at the following link.

In his presentation, A Pastoral Reflection on Medical Assistance in Dying which took place October 2018, Archbishop Vienneau noted that in every country where this legislation has been adopted, it was only the first step.  Once the door was opened, it just kept getting wider and wider.  The questionnaire at the above link, seems to presume that anyone filling this out already agrees with Medical Assistance in Dying and now it's just a matter of eligibility.  Where do you stand on this issue?  Please make your views known to government prior to the date indicated.
